25 Turn Offs to Avoid on Your Next Date
Men do plenty of everyday things that are huge turnoffs for women. And we went to Reddit to discover the most annoying things you should stop doing ASAP!
2.
Telling me to stop eating what I’m eating (e.g. bread, noodles, etc) cause it’ll make me fat. IDGAF. It’s a tiring day. I want my bread. F*ck off
4.
Had an ex that told me he was “too good for chores” then complained about my place not being clean enough for him, despite him living at my place for free (not even buying food or helping with chores). Any guy that complains about the things someone is doing for him with no thanks or help, I’m immediately turned off. Even more so when it is demanded and expected.
5.
When men act like stereotypically feminine things are bad and refuse to try them. Like taking a bath or lighting a candle or wearing nice scented colognes.
6.
Pee on the fucking seat/floor. Leave a giant mess for me to clean up like I'm his mom and then tell me he wants to have sex when he hasn't done a goddamn thing or talked to me all day, like I'm just a f*ckmaid.
8.
When you say something like “I’m hungry” and they make the “I have something you can eat” kind of jokes. It makes my skin crawl.
9.
Not every guy does this, but a lot of them do: when they make fun of their significant other/best friend in front of their other friends to look cool, or get validation. or, when a guy makes fun of his friend in order to appeal to somebody they’re interested in. Just be genuine.
10.
Not understanding boundaries or hearing us say "no, I'm not interested in a relationship" and then hovering around us like we're going to change our minds.
12.
Being too sexual, too soon. No, it's not flirty. Yes, we might be going on a date, but don't try and get in my pants within the hour, it's such a f*cking turn off.
13.
You can tell when a guy thinks of women as glorified NPCs. They don't really consider or think about the thoughts women have, what they may do when they're alone if it doesn't directly affect them, what their opinions are unless it changes how they act, etc. The conversations, the depth of what they speak out, just never goes beyond puddle-deep because they don't trust women to form those thoughts, and most of the time men aren't even aware they do this, it's just so deeply socially conditioned for them You can always, always tell after a very short time of meeting a guy either in the workplace or on a date or in any other situation, whether or not he knows he has to say the right things and put the right tokens in for sex to pop out. It becomes extremely stark when you see him behave towards other men as opposed to other women.
14.
Gatekeeping. Yes, I listen to the bands I wear merch of. No, I will not name a bunch of their songs. I don’t owe you sh*t my dudes.
15.
Brag about stupid sh*t like how drunk you can get or how many fights you've been in. Oh, and referring to yourself as an "alpha male".
16.
Doesn’t take you seriously/ doesn’t care about what you have to say. That or expecting me to worship the ground they walk on
18.
Turning everything into a competition. There's a certain subset of guys who think they can impress you by being "the best" at something. Not just good, but specifically, "the best." This in turn leads to them gatekeeping and putting you and others down in order to prove their superiority, and this kind of behavior is just annoying.
20.
Being unclean. Amazing how fast I can lose a lady boner when I see a Bathtub that has never been cleaned and a carpet so black I'm afraid to walk on it. Also its amazing how many men have awful breath?? Like I'm attracted and then I go in for a kiss and I'm hit with awful death breath and suddenly I just wanna go home. Carry some mints around (applies to all genders)
21.
When you’re having a normal conversation and he turns it sexual, with no prompting or leading. We were literally talking about work and the next minute he turns it into naked massages. Yeah nah thanks.
