22 Film Fails and Movie Mistakes That Slipped Passed the Editors

Filmmakers sometimes miss errors in their quest for an exceptional shot. The same goes for the folks in the editing booth. Check out this list of mistakes, blunders, and editing errors that eagle-eyed fans spotted in some of our favorite movies and classic films.

1.

The most famous scar in cinema is undoubtedly Harry Potter’s, and not only because of its lightning bolt shape, but also because it was left by “He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named”. However, in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, when Dumbledore leaves Harry with a family of Muggles (non-magical humans), we see that he does not have the mark on his forehead (00:03:42). In the second shot, it magically appears (00:03:49).

2.

3.

Jurassic Park. The T-Rex comes out of a heavily forested area, eats the goat, tears down the fence, and suddenly all that land disappears, replaced by a large dam that Alan Grant can rappel down. Huge budget film, massively famous director. I still wonder how they got away with this 30 years later.

7.

Avengers: Endgame is one of the most successful movies of all time. In the scene where some kids approached Hulk to take a picture, we can see that the pancake is cut in the middle (00:38:00). Thirty-eight seconds later, the two halves are joined together. Could it have been Doctor Strange?

8.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The majority of the characters in the movie wear anti-reflective lenses, which were not commonly used until the 1980s, and the quality of the coatings was subpar at the time. As a result, it would have been impossible for Sharon Tate to have worn glasses with this type of coating in 1969.

9.

Ocean’s Eleven. Brad Pitt is renowned for his insatiable appetite; nonetheless, it would have been improbable for the actor to consume two distinct dishes during a brief scene, no matter how voracious his appetite may be.

10.

The Matrix. The camera is visible in the reflection of the doorknob in the scene. Despite the filmmakers’ attempts to conceal it, such as covering it with Morpheus’ jacket, attentive viewers noticed the mistake.

11.

The Graduate. Per the film’s storyline, the protagonist travels to Berkeley, a city on the eastern side of the San Francisco Bay. However, the viewers can observe Dustin Hoffman’s character driving on the bridge’s upper deck, which is in the opposite direction.

Moulin Rouge! During a particular scene, the thin straps of Nicole Kidman’s dress are briefly replaced by wider straps for a few seconds.

13.

It took 20 years for us, at least, to discover that Johnny Tran, from the first installment of The Fast and Furious saga, was the fastest of them all. After one hour twelve minutes and fifty-six seconds (1:12:56) of the movie, we see Johnny wearing a black shirt. Three seconds later, he is in a sleeveless T-shirt.
