Sometimes the stars just seem to align; sometimes everything just sort of "comes together" in a way almost suggestive of the grand design. Indeed, some people's luck is so bad, their misfortune so seemingly inconceivable, that the only reasonable explanation is that they've somehow managed to attract the ire of a minor deity.
