It's almost impossible to comprehend the vastness of space, where distance is measured by time itself and the celestial bodies arrange themselves according to forces beyond our imagination. But that doesn't stop us from trying.

Took 17 hours to photograph this mysterious corner of our galaxy. The faint squid nebula is cradled in the wings of the flying bat nebula around 2300 light years away. The squid is the size of six full moons in the night sky, found in the constellation Cepheus.
