When we study history at school, there's almost always a focus on a particular time period and region (ex: Italy during the Renaissance). While this certainly helps narrow down the scope of one's studies, it also removes some very interesting context. Few people realize that Oxford University is actually older than the Aztec Empire - and that the two existed side-by-side on opposite ends of the world for quite some time.
