Teddy bears were actually named after president Theodore Roosevelt. Because he refused to kill a bear during a hunting trip, most newspapers made cartoon figures of him as a bear to make fun of him. Morris Michtom saw the drawings and made a cute stuffed bear and named it Teddy. -@DonCorleANN
