When it comes to good advice, not all popular wisdom is created equal. While saying "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger" SOUNDS really cool and makes a great Kelly Clarkson hook, it kinda overlooks people who nearly died and now live with life-altering injuries/disabilities.

In general, any kind of blanket advice that fails to consider someone's specific circumstances should be taken with several grains of salt.
