Our new to us house has a secret panic room that wasn’t included in the listing! Built in 1978 and i love this place!

A wall was removed in a Victorian house we are working at which revealed an old cast iron fireplace

Found the original wainscoting in our 1895 Victorian hiding behind the drywall 895 house in Massachusetts. Demo of an ugly closet in this room has revealed the original wainscoting! We were planning to replicate the original we found in the closet and apply it all around the room, but I guess now we don’t have to!

I previously posted about uncovering Victorian tile under a faux (and poorly built) fireplace in my 1880 home. Here’s what we found after completely removing the bottom portion – hoping to find the same along the wall when the rest is removed

Removed the carpet in one of the bedrooms to do up the hardwood flooring, found these ink prints from old newspaper underlay.
