The 15 Worst Trends That Started on TikTok
1.
Joker Face Trend - If you think Jared Leto's performance as Joker was bad, look at this one. The Joker face trend is about making a creepy face when the beat drops and looking as menacing as possible. Except whatever these people are doing is not scary or threatening, but extremely cringy.
Just look at these faces. Can you imagine how Mark Hamill would feel after watching this? The guy has invested all his talent and voice into making Clown Prince popular and then comes this TikTok trend.
At this point, these people might as well be the real Jokers, as a compilation of this trend has over 99M views on Youtube. That's more views than the official Joker movie trailer.
2.
Dry Pre-Workout Challenge - The 'Dry Pre-Workout Challenge' is what its name says. People go on and gulp scoops full of pre-workout like Magic Pop candy and act tough. Except, the pre-workout isn't a can of spinach, and these guys are no Popeye.
Youtuber 'Chubbyemu', also a Clinical Adjunct Professor, has posted a video of one such incident where a TikToker chugged eight scoops of pre-workout.
The TikToker's brain quite literally inflated within his skull, causing it to bleed. Chubbyemu also explains that dry scooping the supplement won't help it digest faster.
3.
Skull Breaker Challenge - Most of us know how kids can pull silly litter pranks on each other. But the Skull Breaker Challenge isn't one of those. In this trend, two people will ask someone unsuspecting to jump in front of the camera. In the middle of the jump, the victim will be kicked by the other two people, making them fall headfirst on the floor.
The worst bit is, it's not just some kid prank, as grown-ups are doing it as well. Tiktokers have done this not only to strangers but their family members and parents. As expected, this challenge has caused multiple injuries to people.
4.
The Autism Challenge - This little trend is mind-numbingly dumb and purely repetitive and cringe. In The Autism Challenge, people will act like they have autism and move their bodies to a soundtrack. How did this even become a thing and why people are doing this is beyond comprehension.
5.
The George Floyd Challenge - Just when you think TikTok can not be any more offensive, it shows it can. As evident by the name, this challenge is about imitating the George Floyd incident.
In this trend, one person will put their knee over another person's head, smile, and pose. How is this even a challenge? What is wrong with the people doing this on social media?
6.
Dipping Testicles In Soy Sauce Taste Test - Okay, so this is a funny and dumb one. People are quite literally dropping their family jewels into a sauce that goes with rice, noodles, and sushi. Yep, you're hearing this right.
They have decided to call this the 'Dipping Testicles In Soy Sauce Taste Test.' People are doing this to prove that nuts have tastebuds. Guess it is all in the name of science.
7.
Cross-Dressing Couples - Not sure if the chivalry is dead, but masculinity and femininity certainly are. This 'Cross-Dressing Couples' trend takes the cringe in 'couple videos' to a whole new level.
In this trend, both partners will cross-dress and act like each other, or as male-female stereotypes. This kind of stuff is the opposite of entertaining, and the fact that people are producing it is mindblowing.
8.
Anime Voice Trend - If you want to see human beings act like anime characters they can never quite match, this TikTok trend is for you. Similar to 'The Autism Challenge,' these people are making faces to a sound clip in hopes of looking cool. If that isn't enough cringle, some of their costumes certainly are.
9.
Veneers and Supergluing Fake Fangs - So apparently, people are copy-pasting some influencer who got Dental veneers. The problem is, these TikTokers are shredding down their fully-functioning teeth to do so.
The worst bit is, kids are getting it for their 18th birthday. Then there's the 'Supergluing Fake Fangs' trend, where people are gluing fangs to look cool and ending up in a hospital to remove them.
10.
COVID Patients & Shots of Everclear - What do you do if you get the coronavirus? The common answers would involve taking steam, resting up, and getting proper medicine. However, some of these TikTokers think it's a game and are taking shots of Everclear to test their anosmia.
11.
Removing Beauty Marks DIY Edition - The people who aren't super comfortable with their beauty marks are going full DIY at removing them. These TikTokers are doing it by using random chemicals/creams with no proper consultation at all. The worst bit is that they are showing it off as a simple tutorial to other people, also putting them at risk.
12.
The Cereal Bowl Challenge - Nobody would've thought that they'd see people use other people's mouths as a bowl. But thanks to Tiktok, here we are. The 'Cereal Bowl Challenge' requires two people.
One of them will lie down and act as a bowl while the other will pour milk and cereal into their mouths. Then the person sitting up will take a spoon, shove it inside their friend/family member's mouth and eat saliva-filled cereal.
13.
Blackout challenge - This challenge has been there for a while, where one will try to block the oxygen supply, resulting in an immediate blackout. Not only are people getting hurt attempting this challenge, but it has also caused someone to die. People are also doing it in pairs, where one will try to suffocate the other.
14.
Penny challenge - As harmless as it sounds from the name, it isn't. This challenge involves plugging a charger halfway into the outlet, then releasing a penny into the gap. Doing this will result in immediate sparks, short-circuit, and flames.
15.
Milk Crate Challenge - Don't you love when grown-ups do something as creative as the 'Milk Crate Challenge?' This trend is quite simple, stack up the milk crates and climb them for clout. Except, people are falling like ragdolls from Grand Theft Auto's Euphoria engine and getting injured while doing so.
