This sculpture by Marie Uchytilova commemorates the 82 children of Lidice. The small Czechoslovakian village was attacked by Nazis, and in July of 1942, all 82 children were transported to the extermination camp at Chelmno, where they were gassed.

After parcel post service began in 1913, children began being sent through the mail, complete with stamps attached to their clothing. The Postmaster General had to quickly issue a regulation as a result.
