A zoo in France has a problem. Their male killer whale is reaaaally horned up, but the only female around him is his own mother. What’s a zoo to do?

Well, if you’re Marineland Antibes, you pay one of your zookeepers to give him a handy.

Activists in France have obtained a video of two trainers at Marineland Antibes giving an 11-year-old orca, named Keijo, a little extra love with their hands.

When confronted about this, the zoo admitted openly that they were engaging in the practice, writing in a statement to BBC News, “In order to avoid inbreeding with his mother, but also to prevent them from fighting and injuring each other, Marineland decided to … stimulate Keijo [to relieve him of his] tensions.”

They then added, “Although spectacular, this is natural and totally painless for the animals.”

Probably not what these guys expected to do with their zoology degree!
