Young People Say Boomers Won’t Get Off Their Dang Phones
Oh, how the tables have turned!

Talk to a Boomer for long enough, and they’ll doubtless mention that “kids these days are always on their dang phones!” But, as it turns out, young people have the same complaint about them.
Across social media, people are complaining about how obsessed Boomers have become with their phones — and how little etiquette they seem to have while using them.
For example, Redditors have noted how their Boomer parents will spend hours upon hours scrolling through Facebook and Instagram Reels (and not wearing headphones while doing so). They’ve also discussed how Boomers don’t really have a good sense of “time and place” when it comes to phone content. No, Randy, this busy restaurant isn’t a good place to show us that loud video your friend from work sent you!
To make matters worse, Boomers aren’t only bad at using their phones, but they’re really, really dangerous with them. Despite the fact that it takes them 20 minutes just to figure out “where the Facebook app went,” about half of Boomers admitted to using their phone while driving in 2019 — and this doesn’t just include phone calls. Reddit is filled with threads from users asking how they can get their parents to stop texting while driving, or even watching TikToks while on the freeway.
Boomers, it’s time to take your own advice: Put the phones away!
