If you went onto the Japanese online marketplace Mercari in the past few months, you may have seen a wide variety of completely unique ultrasound photos.

Why were there so many listings for these things? Well, the marketplace hasn’t released a statement (they’ve since banned the sale), but netizens say they’re likely used for “ninshin sagi” — also known as “pregnancy fraud.” This is when a woman will call up a man with whom she previously had a relationship, claim she’s pregnant (complete with ultrasound photos) and then demand money from him.

This might explain why there were so many listings for pregnant ultrasounds on the site, and why so many internet users were shocked to see them. “I just gave birth recently, and I can’t believe there are mothers out there who would sell those photos,” wrote one user, per SoraNews24. Another added, “While these things need to be regulated, Japan has to improve its economy so people don’t feel the need to sell their kids’ ultrasound photos.”

Well, soon, they won’t be able to, as Mercari says they’re banning the sale as of September 1st. So, if you want one of these photos, you’ve gotta act fast!
