It used to be relatively easy to get across the U.S. border if you had the appropriate paperwork. Now, border agents are taking a much closer, more intrusive look at everyone who enters the country — and, sometimes, denying them for the silliest of reasons.
There was already that Norwegian kid who was refused entry after being found to have a J.D. Vance meme on his phone. Now, there’s Canadian Angela Daigle, who says she was denied entry into the U.S. from Canada because she had too much clothes.
“They felt like I had too many items, too much clothes, in my vehicle to cross for two weeks to visit my partner,” she explained. “So my car was searched and I was detained.”
According to her, border patrol didn’t believe that she was only there to visit her sick fiancé. Instead, they thought that there was someone in the year of our lord 2025 who was just dying to relocate from Canada to the U.S. and planned to do so illegally.
And so, they detained her, handcuffed her, made her sign a document that she said she didn’t understand and then sent her on her way.
Now, her fiancé says he plans to leave the U.S. and move up to Canada with her. Wonder why!
