Ordering fast food can be a gamble at the best of times, but usually, it’s just a matter of finding a hair in your burger, or getting the wrong order, or walking into some sort of gang war between employees and customers. One girl on TikTok experienced something far, far worse than any of those run-of-the-mill happenings.
In a video posted to the app earlier this month, a girl can be seen extracting a plastic trash bag from her McFlurry, which is absolutely covered in ice cream and looks like it was completely blended with the rest of the dessert. Both the camerawoman and the woman in the video are audibly and visibly disgusted, but this is truly more mystifying than anything else. How on earth did this happen?
A commenter had a potential answer; Rocky wrote, “I worked at McDonald’s, it’s the ice cream liquid bag you’re supposed to dump it in, I guess they threw the bag in too.” Another former employee commented that they “def did it on purpose” but like, to what end?
Based on the comments, this isn’t the first time something like this has happened. At least one commenter had a similar story about finding an entire glove in their McDonald’s Coke. Meanwhile, all of the commenters were united in their disgust, with some encouraging the girls to “get their money” since the video ends with one of them asking the other if they should sue.
Many people, including the posters themselves, wondered if it was deliberate; the caption reads, “It was so on purpose like folded so small at the bottom,” while several commenters asked what the pair could have possibly done to piss someone off so much that they served them a McFlurry with a side of plastic bag.
Treat this as a lesson, I guess: Be super nice to fast-food workers because it’s the right thing to do, but also so they don’t decide to ruin your food with literal garbage.
