In efforts to calm the nerves of children of the dentist, one orthodontist has upped his game to freaky new heights. One dentist, in particular, has turned his office into a regional theatre production of Charlie and The Chocolate Factory. Fantastical entrance and all.

One mom on TikTok posted a video of her son having an appointment at Dr. Jones Orthodontics. The dental assistant asks him to guess which door Dr. Jones will appear from. She hits the knocker and cues in Dr. Jones — who then comes down from the ceiling on a hydraulic platform while OK Go’s “Here We Go Again” plays in the background.

Dr. Jones looks exactly like a children's dentist. He has light-up shoes and a stylish Wonka cane. This man exudes Jim Carey if he were a youth pastor-energy.

Long are the days that you could blow up a glove into a balloon and that would suffice. The kids require production values, lights, and a strong narrative.

The dental office is fully decorated like Willy Wonka’s factory from Roald Dahl’s book. I guess they love the irony of making a place usually full of candy into a dental office.

“I want this to happen when I go to the gynecologist,” tweets @girl_constanza.

But some saw right through the facade.

“This kid probs getting charged a stack for this kind of production value,” commented @Your_Pal_Tone.

“I would flee so fast. Do not inject whimsy into this, tooth man, I need you to be a cold efficient machine, if you pull a rope of handkerchiefs out of my mouth I will end you,” tweets @ThePseudosapien.

While it's a wholesome thought using a children’s book/movie to ease kids' fears, this dentist seems to forget that multiple children die or never leave Wonka’s factory.

And are the dental assistant technically Oompa Loompa’s? We have questions.
