On today’s installment of five-minute tasks proving themselves to be aggressively simple despite the five months of pained procrastination leading to their completion, it seems the fine people of Reddit have come to the realization of just how deceptively easy some things can be — and we’re not just talking about printing that goddamn document.

Last week, Redditor u/UnoAboveAll took to the platform with a question for the patrons of r/askreddit “What was your ‘it can’t be that easy / it was that easy’ moment in your life?” an inquiry that evidently includes relative stardom, as u/ZTrev10 Can attest.

“Lived in Jersey and a friend invited me to a commercial audition at an NYC bar,” they began their comment, which has since garnered nearly 700 upvotes. “Went because of bar. Auditioned after 2 beers. Left thinking it was a waste of time. A month later, I get a call that they want to use me for the commercial. Director was the guy who directed the original Space Jam. I got lines and ended up in two of their commercials and got a 40k payday where I thought someone made a clerical error. Started my acting career and now a writer/director/flight attendant.”

Beyond landing a five-figure acting payday — and one degree of separation from movie star/certified drag legend, Bugs Bunny— it seems getting a larger payday too is also easier than meets the eye.

“Got a salary request when applying for a job, accidentally wrote double what I meant to write since the number keys were right next to each other,” wrote u/ahjteam, noting that “They accepted anyway.”

Aside from cash, tying shoes too is also shockingly simple, a realization former velcro legend u/IIIMjolnirIII came to after relying on lace-free kicks.

“When I was a kid, no one ever managed to teach me how to tie my shoes,” they wrote, noting that they somehow managed to make it into their “early 20's relying mostly on velcro shoes.”

“One day I sat down with a pair of new shoes determined to figure it out,” they added.  “I put one on and tied it correctly on the first try. I just sat there dumbfounded for a few minutes wondering how it had been that easy all along.”

Here’s to a lifetime of actually wearing AF1s!
