Fitness creator and rock-climber @0tt0o_ recently posted a TikTok video detailing his extremely painful spike-mat routine, one that leaves his back looking a lot like Larry the Lobster from SpongeBob SquarePants.
“Are you ready to become immune to torture?” he kicked off his now-viral video, flaunting his beet-red back. “You should be because today we’re using the spike mat.”
Describing his acupressure routine as “very simple” — “All you have to do is lie on it and stay there,” he vowed — it consists of five stages, the first four of which, as he put it, “are pain.” After weathering a “sharp pain,” followed by a “sore, burning pain” and a “prickly tingling sensation,” he claimed his brain apparently “stops noticing the pain,” bringing him into a meditative state.
“In the final stage, your pain goes away completely. You enter a deep state of relaxation, and you become immune to torture,” he concluded.
It wasn’t long before his claims had traveled to Twitter, where it launched a full-fledged debate about just how much torture immunity this spike-mat routine bestowed upon him.

“‘Heh I’m immune to torture’ Oh yeah what’cha gonna do when I break out the bucket and towel, cuckold,” joked @DatingSims.
“let’s put him in a storage container underground for months and waterboard him and see what he thinks of that,” added @funky_butler.
Meanwhile, the BDSM community was far from impressed by @0tt0o_’s apparent penchant for pain. “Once again I am finding it hilarious that people keep reinventing masochism,” @nrduford marveled.
“just do BDSM like the rest of us bud,” @TopherStoll suggested.

Just another thing for him to meditate on while those spikes are digging into his back, I guess.
