Vince McMahon Says Hulk Hogan Wasn’t Racist, Just Said Racist Things

Oh, okay, that clears everything up.

If you followed the Hulkster’s exploits during his life, you probably know that he said some “unsavory” things. Apart from his efforts to stop a WWE union, he also had a spicy tape leak in which he used racial slurs and stated, explicitly, that he was “a racist, to a point” regarding Black people.

But to hear McMahon tell it, that was all just talk. “He wasn’t racist. He said some racist things,” McMahon explained. He should tell that to the person calling Hulk Hogan a racist — you know, Hogan himself!

McMahon chalked up the whole incident — well, “incidents” plural, as Hogan had multiple racist and homophobic tapes leak — to being mistakes that he should have had to pay for, “and he did.”

For Hogan’s part, it should be noted that before he died, he repeatedly apologized for his comments. That said, he also blamed those inappropriate statements on the fact he grew up in Florida, to which his childhood neighbors responded that language like that was also racist in Florida.

Sorry, Vince, but I’m not sure people will buy it.
