With Congress dancing around the topic of UFOs this summer, enthusiasts have been more vigilant than ever when it comes to watching the skies for potential sightings.
One such enthusiast shared a video to r/UFOs recently, although they weren’t under the impression they’d spotted a UFO; rather, they wondered if it was a man using a jetpack. In the skies above a Scottsdale, Arizona Courtyard Marriott during sunset, OP filmed a figure floating rather aimlessly through the sky. Despite first wondering if it might be a man with a jetpack, OP later suggested it was probably a helium inflatable, which is an incredibly reasonable suggestion for someone who frequents a UFO subreddit.
Jet pack man? Not sure

In the comments, OP explained, “The thing kept ascending higher until I couldn’t see it anymore,” adding that they, “tried to video but the camera didn’t capture anything, moreover it was getting dark and the thing was black in color.” Again, they concluded that it was most likely an inflatable of some sort.
Commenters had fun with it anyway. One wrote, “Metapod my beloved,” a reference to a famous UFO named for the first-generation Pokémon that looks like a crescent moon, while another simply stated, “Jesus has come.” Others complained that the video wasn’t relevant to the sub, as “most of us aren’t here for videos of possible balloons, we’re here for disclosure,” but the majority agreed that they were there “to be entertained whether it be from videos or disclosures.”
OP also shared additional zoomed-in screenshots of the object and yeah, it looks like a balloon of a superhero like Iron Man that escaped from a child’s birthday party.
Hardly the exciting alien sighting UFO hunters were hoping for, but a good reminder that humans should probably be more careful about what we release into the atmosphere.
