After controversy over creating misogynistic and toxic content on social media, Andrew Tate has been banned from Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok.

Andrew Tate runs a get-rich-quick scheme that lures lonely and disenchanted young men to join and feel like their part of a community. He claims to teach them about picking up women, making large amounts of money and creating an "alpha male" lifestyle.

Meta has banned Tate from both platforms for violating their policies and creating "dangerous misogynistic" content that could possibly "radicalize" young men. At the time of removal, Tate had over 5 million subscribers on Instagram. He had already been banned from Twitter saying girls who were victims of rape "must bear some of the responsibility".

The ex-Big Brother contestant created a following by giving advice to men about picking up women. In one video, Tate advocated that men who were caught cheating on their girlfriends should, "bang out the machete, boom in her face and grip her by the neck. Shut up b*tch."

Earlier this year, Tate was investigated in Romania for alleged human trafficking and rape when a woman who was living at his house called the police.

The ban came after Meta users called to remove Tate from the platform for creating harmful content.

Many activist groups and women's rights organizations have been trying to get Tate removed from the internet completely, claiming his videos are "normalizing violence" and that his comments and advice are "extremely misogynistic" to the point that "men and boys regularly watching and listening to negative presentations of masculinity may begin to adopt these attitudes and behaviors, believing that they are acting as the 'ideal man".

Tate has not commented on the ban, but this will most likely not stop him from continuing to make harmful content.
