Looking to cut down on your makeup routine? Maybe refrain from blasting your entire body in dyed powder, a lesson one beauty aficionado recently discovered the hard way.
On Thursday, software engineer @estefannie.gg headed to TikTok with her latest inventing challenge — building a device that could help her slash her makeup application time from ten minutes to just one second.
“It takes me 10 minutes to do my makeup, so I’m making a makeup machine by 99.83 percent, you know, for self care,” she began her now-viral video.
After grabbing a few pipes and other equipment from what appears to be a hardware store, @estefannie.gg got to work on assembly.
“I used the pump to fill the chamber with air,” she explained atop clips of her unconventional invention coming to life. “When I turn on this battery, the valve opens, releasing the air which pushes the makeup forward.”
Despite her best efforts, her first attempt failed, leaving her coated in a thin layer of powder.
“Do I look pretty?” she asked to the camera, her voiceover quickly and omnisciently answering that she “didn’t.”
Considering this initial fail, @estefannie.gg decided to take another approach to testing her gadget, positioning her face right in front of the barrel. Unfortunately, her results weren’t much different.
“So yes technically I did my makeup in one second,” she concluded. “It did actually kinda hurt.”
Moral of the story? Hire a glam squad … or get really good at the 5-minute makeup challenge.
