“This is literal manual labor, not vacation.”

That’s what the TikToker Lexi Jordan captioned her video about arriving in Italy’s Amalfi Coast. “It’s impossible to get here,” she said. She also complained about carrying her luggage on a ferry and up some stairs.

Lexi’s video faced instant pushback, with seasoned travelers rightly pointing out that remote destinations require more specific travel.

“Warning,” @KaneFoxxx joked. “Traveling may involve traveling.”

The video comes at a time when an increasing number of American tourists are claiming that Europe isn’t the desirable travel destination it was always thought to be. On Wednesday we covered a viral video of an American tourist trashing Paris, and travel TikTokers have been complaining about Europe’s non-complimentary water and its lack of air conditioning for years.

But Lexi Jordan’s video struck a different nerve, especially after she revealed that her boyfriend and the concierge carried her luggage up the stairs for her.

Traveling to a beautiful new location is one of life’s greatest pleasures. So what if you have to take the road less traveled to get there?
