Everything can be a flex if you try hard enough.

Recently, there’s been a trend floating around the internet in which fans of the fast-food chain McDonald’s gloat about how many points they’ve accumulated from eating McDonald’s via its app.

Given that one dollar is worth 100 points — and points expire after six months — one might expect a McDonald’s lover to have a couple thousand points. If they’re lucky, maybe their point totals could even reach over 10,000! What a dream!

Those who think this are sorely mistaken, as users on Twitter have been boasting about point totals that are in the tens of thousands.

One Redditor even claimed to have over 37,000 points, showing their true allegiance to the Golden Arches and their likely increased risk of heart attack. Another user on Twitter says they have almost 48,000, and a different Redditor alleged that they had over 50,000 — both considerable, if embarrassing achievements.

For those who think these sodium-enriched McDonald’s lovers will be enjoying free food for life thanks to these points, think again.

First, again, points expire after six months. Second, McDonald’s says that you can only use one reward per transaction — meaning that you’ll have to place a lot of individual orders before you can make a dent in that massive bucket of points.

In the meantime, these users will spend their days munching down on budget burgers while slurping down whatever novelty shake Mickey D’s decides to throw at us next. Lord help whoever is cleaning their toilets.
