Life isn’t always a thrill ride. Sometimes, life’s greatest pleasures come not in the form of major events, but in the little things that keep us going. This revelation is the genesis of Facebook’s “Dull Men’s Club,” where men from around the world gather to share all of the things that went okay for them that day.
While most of these are honestly kind of cute (I don’t know how else to react to an old man who’s thrilled about getting a model train he’s been pining for for years), others can make you feel just a teensy bit sad. For example, this guy claims to have eaten over 7,500 ham sandwiches over the past 29 years. Five gold stars to whoever figures out how many pigs that would take to accomplish.

Of course, there’s plenty more food gore on display in the Dull Men’s Club, from this guy who recently enjoyed a half-price egg, shrimp and mayonnaise sandwich…
…to this man who confessed to regularly eating cold rice with milk. Someone get this man some Cookie Crisp!
Posts regularly take the form of bizarre fascinations. This man says he has, across 32 years of driving, logged “the amount of fuel, where I filled up, how much it cost and the car mileage” every time he got gas. “Not really sure why I started, but now can’t stop,” he writes.
And there’s this guy, who counted all of the times the phrase “Young Man” is said in the song “Y.M.C.A.” by the Village People.
Of course, given that this is a group of (mostly) old men, injuries abound. Oh, so, so many injuries — many of which happen to affect the knee.
That said, there’s plenty of joy to be had in the Dull Men’s Group. This can range from beautiful sunsets, to old cars that have been completely revamped, to this guy who carves “Cherokee marbles traditionally with stone tools.” Honestly, pretty neat!
But for the most part, these posts offer users peeks into just how much some people find pleasure in the mundane.
It’s just like the Caribbean!
These posts remind us of the beauty of life’s little wonders — or encourage us to get off our asses and finally get a hobby.
