Has society gone too woke? These days, you can’t even try to kill the president!

If you don’t know who John Hinckley Jr. is, he’s an aspiring singer-songwriter who’s been trying to book gigs around the U.S.

The problem is that he, way, way back in the day, tried to kill President Ronald Reagan in an attempt to impress Jodie Foster. Despite becoming a new man — who didn’t do stuff they regret in the ‘80s? — he’s now facing problems finding venues that will host his events.

While he was initially taking these cancellations well, his position has now shifted. According to him, he’s a victim of cancel culture!

After canceled shows at venues like New York’s Market Hotel and Connecticut’s Hotel Huxley, this guitar man says that he can’t find anywhere willing to host his performances.

If you’re interested in getting into Hinckley’s music, it might be good to start with his influences. According to him, this includes Neutral Milk Hotel, “early Beatles, early Elvis, early Bob Dylan and early Rolling Stones,” according to a Tweet. Also, watch The Silence of the Lambs — it’s a great movie!

In response to these cancelations, he’s briefly mentioned the idea of opening his own music venue, though I can imagine any landlord would have similar troubles to those who want to host his concerts. I really, truly hope this all works out for him — every potential star deserves their shot at fame. No, not like that.
