Long before the cast of The Good Place shocked audiences with *that* twist ending of their first season, revealing that despite the promises of Ted Danson’s Michael, our newly-deceased Good Place residents were firmly planted in the bad place, the cast had to learn for themselves what would be in store.

Earlier this week, a vintage clip captured by Kristen Bell, who played the series protagonist Eleanor Shellstrop began making the rounds on TikTok, depicting her co-stars William Jackson Harper, D'Arcy Carden, Manny Jacinto and Jameela Jamil reacting to the news that their characters were actually in the bad place for the entirety of the show’s first season.

Prompting several gasps, mouth-grasps and an “OHHHHH!” from Harper, the clip quickly amassed more than 736,000 likes in its first few days on TikTok, a testament to, as Bell so aptly put it, “everyone's unique ability to digest this betrayal."

"I thought it was going to be my first submission to America's Funniest Home Videos, the best television show ever to grace the planet," Bell told Entertainment Weekly of the clip during its first viral foray back in 2017, noting that she “really thought it was going to win me a hundred thousand dollars, their big jackpot prize.”

“It was as good as you think it is because they were really stunned,” she continued. “They were having trouble… It was very paralyzing — they were all like 'Huh?' because it was an alternate reality to what they had been living in. They had been living in something that was completely untrue, just like their characters."
