A teenage mother named Lissa has shared a chilling video to TikTok which shows a man spying on her and her young child through the window, explaining in the caption that she was attempting to record evidence for the police after the man had been stalking her and her family for a month.

The man, with his face pressed up against the glass, is smiling the entire time and gestures at Lissa, seemingly telling her to come outside. One tiny upside is that this isn’t her family home, but the reality isn’t much better; instead, it’s a Ronald McDonald House where families with sick kids can stay in order to be closer to the hospitals where their children are receiving treatment, meaning that this man is stalking a teen mom with a sick kid. Lovely.

In follow-up videos, Lissa provides context, including details of her first encounter with this man. While visiting a nearby McDonald’s about a month ago with her husband and son, she was approached by the man who told her that he’d seen her eating at the Ronald McDonald House. While she found this slightly odd, she initially just assumed that meant he had stayed there himself, because going for the simplest explanation makes more sense than assuming it meant he was watching her through the windows. She even asked him if he stayed there too, to which he said yes.

Then his demeanor changed and he started asking, “Where’s the man?”, because her husband had gone to get food, eventually disengaging from the conversation and backing up once her husband returned to the table. The next day, she saw him in the window, which is when she realized he wasn’t a guest and she had no idea how long he’d been watching her for.

In a second follow-up video, she reported him to house staff, who were familiar with the man and explained that he was mentally ill and receiving treatment nearby. He hadn’t previously been known to stalk guests, which is why Lissa thinks nobody believed that he was stalking her. While he hasn’t tried to speak to her again since their first encounter, she still sees him all the time, which culminated in what we see in the initial video.

After the most recent incident, she went back to the front desk where they debated calling the police, but before they could, he tried to sneak in the front door and come after Lissa. A maintenance man then took off after the stalker. Finally, the police were called, but they didn’t write a report or take a statement from Lissa, instead driving off and never returning.

Doing more detective work than the police themselves, Lissa was able to identify the man, who it turns out has quite the extensive rap sheet, including facing 31 counts of rape, sexual battery and aggravated kidnapping in the early 2000s.

Lissa hasn’t posted an update since learning his identity, so we can only hope that she’s safe and that even if the police aren’t being helpful, Ronald McDonald House Birmingham is doing all it can to keep Lissa and her family safe.
