That’s how Taylor Swift captioned her Instagram post announcing she and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, got engaged. While the 14-time Grammy Award winner is known for sending her hoard of loyal fans on elaborate scavenger hunts, she isn’t known for her control of the English language. I mean, would an English teacher write a lyric as nonsensical as, “They’re burning the witches even if you aren’t one.”

But I digress. While Tay Tay is marrying a man who is perfectly fit to be a high school gym teacher, there is one group of people she didn’t consider in her IG post: her “Gaylor” fans.

Simply put, Swift has a contingency of queer fans, who for years have outwardly claimed that Taylor is herself queer, despite there never being any evidence of it. And now that Swift has announced that she’s engaged to a straight man, they’re melting down.

I assume eventually the Gaylors will fizzle away once they accept the truth that their favorite pop star isn’t secretly gay; however, today isn’t that day. One Gaylor truther posted on Reddit that they were concerned for themselves, saying, “If this is real, and not some PR game, I honestly think I could end up in the hospital.” Other Gaylor fans attacked her for making her announcement, “the same week as the Pulse sidewalk issues.”

While the tweet that summarizes where the Gaylors really stand is a joke, it’s still the best take: “The black and white stripes on her dress signify that she feels like she’s in a prison by being forced to marry him.”
