Swifties Are Streaming the Clean Version of Taylor’s New Album Because She Sounds Really Awkward Swearing

It makes some of the cringier parts of the album a little less wince-inducing.

On Taylor Swift’s new album, she makes some, well, choices. For example, she chooses to sing about her fiancé Travis Kelce’s “Wood” in a song called “Wood,” claiming that it was just so darn good that it managed to “ah-matize” her. She also swears and gets a little raunchy on multiple album tracks, saying in one track (in character) that she has a big, uh, “wood.”

There’s nothing wrong with this, of course. However, listening to the album, some people thought that these words (and this sentiment more generally) just felt weird coming out of Swift’s mouth. Thankfully, Swift also released a clean version of her album — and fans say that listening to it over the original is a much, much better experience.

On X, users from around the world say they’re loving their time with the “clean” version more than the explicit one. “Just listened to the clean version of The Life of a Showgirl and like it SO much better,” reads one post. “honestly they sound 10x better, sometimes i think she cusses just for the sake of cussing, like it made me LOVE Wood,” offered another Swiftie recounting their experience of hearing the clean versions.

So, if you haven’t liked the new album, maybe give the clean version a try. And, if you don’t like that, thankfully there are about 15 million other albums that have been released across human history, so there’s plenty more to choose from.
