Prison-Tok is a fan-favorite section of TikTok, full of creative chefs and eye-opening accounts from people living on the inside. The extent of the skills people have for improvising all kinds of kitchen gear, including hot griddles jerry-rigged from electrical wiring is a wonder of human ingenuity.

And @Donovan7x70 is one such chef who's been serving up cooking videos for his hungry audience of TikTok followers. His talent and cooking skills are impressive, as he shows how he transforms his questionably edible prison food into creative meals that look genuinely delicious.

In his ‘Stir Fry Recipe’ video he shows how he keeps his hands clean while cooking by keeping a towel hanging nearby – one side for soap and the other for water – for quick and easy cleaning access. Other meals he uploaded feature a legendary breakfast sandwich, breakfast burrito and mystery, seafood tacos, tuna melts, and many, many more.

In the comments, viewers ask questions about if he gets in trouble for cooking or if he has to hide his cooking gear, to which he responded “They already know that I have it and [they] not really tripping on it. It will be petty for an officer to be tripping off cooking.”

Donovan masters flavor, as he explains in a video while mixing sauce to compliment beef, rice and pork rinds, “of course, I want that flavor, that’s the ultimate goal, I want every bite to be something that I’m tastin.”

Donovan’s most viewed video is his breakfast sandwich video which currently has 70k views between the two parts. The sandwich, which looks delicious prompted @juanvelez9318 to comment, “Bro you eat better than me and I’m on the outside.”

Though not all of @Donovan7x70’s followers are civilians, many of whom are former inmates themselves. On such follower, @imhellaupp commented, “Shi I remember breakfast, lunch, & dinner was all I ever looked forward to when I was locked up,” reminiscing on his days spent in prison.

Donovan is tight-lipped about the details behind his time in prison, so it’s hard to say whether we can expect to see him cooking on a real Hibachi stove one day, but in the meantime keep an eye out for more recipes and the widely requested kitchen setup tour.
