Bodycam footage and a 911 call have been released in regards to an incident where Ryan Coogler, the director of 'Black Panther' was detained in Atlanta when trying to withdraw 12 thousand dollars from a Bank of America. The video shows Coogler standing at the teller's window waiting to be given his money when two police officers approach him from behind, unholster their weapons, and ask him to put his hands behind his back.

Coogler is clearly shocked and immediately placed his hands behind his back, before asking the officers what the hell was going on. And bellow you can see a brief interaction between Coogler and the officers after they removed the cuffs and realized the call was a mistake.

The woman who was helping Coogler can be seen thanking the police officers as they escorted him from the building. Apparently, she called the police because he was 'acting strangely'. She told the operator that he had handed her a note with instructions, that he wanted 12k in cash and wanted it to be done discreetly.
Though it seems the note itself is what threw her for a loop. He did provide a proper ID for the account and even entered his pin and provided his bank card. But somehow that wasn't enough for the teller, as she stepped away and called the police on him.

Now to play devil's advocate, we can sorta see both sides here. I get him wanting to be discreet. Butt as a director, you'd think Coogler would know that passing notes in banks does feel a little bank robber-like.
