Days after Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife Sophie Gregoire Trudeau announced they’d be heading their separate ways after 18 years of marriage, MAGA influencers have started speculating that another minister may have gotten in the way of their nearly two-decade romance: None other than French President Emmanuel Macron.
“Rumors Are Circulating That Justin Trudeau (The Dictator of Canada) and Emmanuel Macron (The Dictator of France) Had an Affair Together,” notable right-wing Twitter nuisance @MattWallace888 captioned a collage of the world leaders.

Featuring two snaps of Trudeau and Macron greeting each other during the Canadian leader’s 2018 trip to Paris and a third unverified photo allegedly depicting the leaders gazing into each other’s eyes, the images made the rounds on conservative social media, where some began interpreting their mild physical affection as proof that the duo had definitely been boning.
“Wonder why he’s getting divorced,” controversial creator Nicole Arbour captioned the collage on Instagram alongside the hashtags #HopeSheGetsWithATrucker and #HesABottomForSure, failing to mention which “he” she was referencing.
But it wasn’t just MAGA-ts who got in on the fun. As the conspiracy spread throughout the Twitterverse, several horny fans of LGBT romance novels quickly jumped on this theory.
Beyond sparking a whole lot of hastily-written thirsty fanfiction, several began likening a possible secret romance between Trudeau and Macron to the plot of Red White and Royal Blue, a popular 2019 novel in which an American President’s son carries out a secret love affair with a British prince.

“Conservatives writing gay fanfic about my prime minister was not on my 2023 bingo card ngl,” joked @socdarling.
“Rwrb promo is wild,” added @loueeh_oioi, referencing the film’s upcoming Netflix adaptation.
So whether or not their romance is real, MAGA-nonsense or a very in-depth commercial for the streaming giant’s latest flick, we can only hope that if Trudeau and Macron have really fallen for each other, they can make it work for the sake of their love child: The province of Quebec.
they even have a baby together ❤️ https://t.co/qmusKwz0uz pic.twitter.com/cHRhB5Deau
