These German climate protestors failed to take something important into consideration when planning to delay a playing of Beethoven's Violin Concerto in Hamburg's Elbphilharmonie concert hall: the conductor's railing they decided to glue themselves to is removable.

As is standard practice for the slew of ongoing European climate protests targeting art, these German protestors glued their hands to the conductor's railing in hopes of stalling the upcoming concert long enough to get their points across. One protestor proclaimed, “Just as there is only one violin concerto by Beethoven, we have only this one planet whose boundaries we disregard so much that climate-related disasters are becoming more frequent and deadly.”

It would seem however that the people in the crowd were much more interested in listening to actual Beethoven, and when a stage worker calmly removed the railing - using it to drag the protestors off the stage - he was met with thunderous applause. The entire incident lasted just a few minutes.
It remains to be seen what long term impacts protests like these will have on climate policy reform. In the short term, activist groups risk alienating allies they need on their side if the noble cause of stopping climate change is to be actualized.
