This afternoon, authorities in Austin announced that the wildfire, which began burning on Tuesday and covered roughly 100 acres, has been 65% contained and was no longer spreading after firefighters battled flames throughout the night and into Wednesday afternoon, per the Texas A&M Forest Service.

While only a few hot spots remain as parties that had previously been required to evacuate have been able to head home, per local NBC affiliate, KXAN, the fire has created some borderline apocalyptic visuals.

As crews continue efforts to fully extinguish the blaze, here are several harrowing photos and images from the ongoing wildfire.
