I love pickles as much as the next guy, but some people can go overboard with them. For example, I was at a bar in Austin, Texas when one of my friends encouraged me to try a “pickle margarita”; in short, it did not taste better coming up than going down.

Another way that pickle lovers have taken their passion to the extreme is through pickle sandwiches. Rather than just layer pickles in the middle of the sandwich like a normal person, these people have made their sandwiches *inside* of a pickle.


This sandwich has proven so popular that one New York deli has lines out the door to sell them, with each coming in at a cool $9.99.



According to this news report, the deli was inspired to start making the sandwich after the sister of one of their cashiers tried it out on TikTok to viral success. Now, the store says they’re going through 50 pails of pickles per week to keep up with the demand.


I mean, I’d try it, but wait in line for it? Pass.


I’d rather make it myself while drunk at 3 a.m. — and, in true American fashion, eat it over the sink.
