Though snapping up Taylor Swift’s masters in 2019 may have not been enough to take down controversial talent manager Scooter Braun, it appears another mysterious force just might.

Several of the music mogul’s top clients, including Demi Lovato and Ariana Grande have reportedly parted ways with Braun over the past several days with Justin Beiber rumored to be seeking new management. As news of these sudden departures spread through pop culture Twitter, an army of celebrity sleuths grabbed their magnifying glasses and plaid hats, speculating on what damning information may soon emerge about the embroiled manager.

While a handful of Swifties pinned Lovato and Grande’s decision to scoot away from Scooter on “Tayvoodoo”— “Taylor finally got enough souls to finish her curse on Scooter,” joked Twitter user @SammAshley — others cited something slightly more tangible on this mass exodus, theorizing Braun had committed the cardinal Hollywood sin of messing with other peoples’ money.

“A-List talent doesn’t abandon ship over morality. If there’s an exposé coming, he would deny it, and it’d play out in court over a few years. Hollywood stays silent, these stars are no angels,” speculated u/thetrashpanda2020 on DeuxMoi subreddit r/Fauxmoi, noting that “what moves the dial is money.”

“And what kind of money loss would lose 3 clients who generate hundreds of millions? Crypto,” they continued. “You don’t lose Ariana & Demi in one day, just a weekend after stories about losing Bieber. Those three lost a massive amount of money. Crypto makes too much sense."

u/Psychological_Egg345 appeared to agree, arguing that if the possibly-looming takedown was “not an expose of, say, sexual impropriety (obviously, on his part)” there must be “something major going on with the finances.”

“As sad as it is to admit it, people are willing to overlook sexual impropriety,” they elaborated. “But all bets are off if someone is ******* around with the money. That's the fastest and surest way of making oneself persona non grata in entertainment.”

Meanwhile, others wondered just how deep the mounting conspiracy against Braun would sink.

”So maybe someone reported his white collar crimes to the FBI?” asked u/owntheh3at18/

But regardless of whether Braun sees his day in court, one thing is certain: Karma is still the breeze in Taylor Swift’s hair on the weekend.
