Penguins, they’re just like us … and by just like us, we mean that they, too, are not strangers to noping the hell out of awkward situations.
In a now-viral clip uploaded to Twitter on Wednesday, one cocky penguin discovered it had waddled way too close to the sun, zooming the hell off of what appears to be an iceberg after discovering a sea lion taking a nap.
Though sea lions may be cute and cuddly to us humans, to penguins, they're predators, they are terrifying, murderous beasts, a fact that prompted that unlucky bird to run – or should we say gracefully swan dive — for its life, yeeting itself into the frigid waters below.

Despite making a clean getaway — one hardly noticed by the visibly tuckered-out sea lion — the penguin found itself a wave of support from its human pals on Twitter.
“I know a ‘oh hell nah’ moment when I see one,” wrote @kirawontmiss.
“You KNOW the penguin had a self-pep talk afterward,” speculated @xDeadpaw while @terencek718 speculated on just how scared that bird was by the sight of its mortal enemy.

“Poor buddy had a bby heart attack,” they wrote.
We can only hope this penguin knows how to swim fast … and has a whole schadenfreude-fueled Curb Your Enthusiasm binge after this awkward moment. They definitely deserve it.
