Nintendo Warns Not to Play Your New Switch on a Hot Day

Excited to play your Switch this summer? Well, according to Nintendo, you really shouldn’t.

That’s because the company recently put out a statement saying that the console should only be played in temperatures ranging between 41 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit. Anything more than that, and you can risk overheating and frying your system.


This may sound like not a big deal, but as summer temperatures are heating up across the country — and as the less-social among us are more likely to be dragged outside by our friends and family — there’s a real chance that someone might accidentally fry their new console by daring to play it in the sunshine.


In short, if you’re a gamer in Arizona, Las Vegas or southern Texas, you might want to make sure your Switch is always kept in the air conditioning. That, or carry around a parasol with you like Princess Peach.
