Have you ever attended a social gathering and desperately wanted one specific person to leave? Well, if you think others might agree with you, a new TikTok party game might be just what the doctor ordered.
“We’re all gunna go around, and we’re gunna name our least favorite person in the room.”
That’s what one partygoer proposed in this viral TikTok posted by okstevenn, prompting a legendary look of shock from a friend. “There’s someone he hates in that room, and he wants it known,” one viewer commented.
“It’s giving ‘The airing of grievances’ and I’m here for it,” Iamnotadam34 added. But while I’m sure Jerry Stiller’s character on Seinfeld would have approved of this game, other people noted its similarity to RuPaul's Drag Race’s “Who Should Go Home Tonight and Why” segment, and the “Who’s on your wagon” game from a recent episode of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. If you’ve seen either, you’ll know that things can get heated pretty quickly.
But while this kind of game is perfect for reality TV-type drama, it’s triggering for people who are scared of being the “least favorite” person in their friend group. Just listen to Cami Biggar describe the effect this kind of game had on her childhood relationships.
So unless we’re all conspiring to kick our great uncle Richard out of Thanksgiving dinner next year, why don’t we shelve this party game while the reality TV cameras are off?
