From the outside, working as a social media manager for the NBA sounds like a dream gig. Watch basketball and post about it for a living? As @howsberger tweeted, “50k to find clips to post on social media? Run me that application.”
But like with most things on social media, the truth is much less appealing. At least according to one rogue Facebook post from a disgruntled employee.
On Monday morning, someone claiming to be a former employee posted to the NBA’s official Facebook account, dragging the NBA and Commissioner Adam Silver for the treatment of their employees.
“The NBA overextends its employees greatly to the detriment of their health,” they wrote. “Glad I resigned. No need for a job to get in the way of your happiness.”
A former NBA employee posted this on the league’s official Facebook page this morning.

The post was live for approximately 22 minutes according to Front Office Sports, and received a mix of support and ridicule.
“Guess bro wanted the 5-year supermax,” @Chester_Diaz_TT joked.
I'm glad he said it. We need to talk about our working conditions more and build solidarity among all workers. So I want y'all to know that we've got mental health professionals with Masters degrees and clinical licenses out here working for less than $50K before taxes.

Hilarious, he/she is posting on Facebook for a salary
No matter what your opinion is on the post, it’s telling that the former employee still had access to the official NBA Facebook account weeks after they resigned. Get your house in order NBA.
