Fast-food prices have skyrocketed. While chains like Burger King and McDonald’s used to be dependable places for a quick, cheap bite, now, you can pretty much only count on the “quick” part (and even that can occasionally be an issue).

After years of people complaining about high prices, McDonald’s has officially announced that they agree their food has become too pricey.

According to CNN, McDonald’s is planning to lower the prices of its combo meals. Both corporate and its U.S. franchisees agreed to price eight popular combo meals at 15 percent below the cost of purchasing the items individually, with McDonald’s corporate offering financial assistance to franchisees that participate in the price cuts. CNN says that this will go into effect next month.

There’s a good reason for this. Per McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski, people aren’t likely to see a combo meal over $10 as a good deal, and that McDonald’s recent trends in that direction are “shaping value perceptions in a negative way.”

Still no word on them bringing back the dollar menu, though!
