Given just how many people have freaked out during flights recently, it’s not exactly shocking that flight attendants are a bit on-edge. However, that doesn’t excuse what Georgia man Mohammad Shibli says happened to him.

According to the New York Post, Shibli claims his wife asked for water from a flight attendant during routine drink service, but was refused for no apparent reason. Shibli then went and asked the flight attendant for water himself, only to again be denied; he eventually got water from another flight attendant, who apologized for the original flight attendant’s behavior.

Although he hoped this would be the end of it, the disrespect continued, including threats that the man would be arrested upon landing and an alleged intentional “bump” while he was in the aisle.

Eventually, Shibli got up and cursed out the flight attendant — who proceeded to slap him across the face.

Delta says the flight attendant has been suspended. Shibli is currently looking for compensation, which, hey, I get it!
