With great drunkenness comes great irresponsibility.
Watching pool is like watching golf, only you’re not stuck walking in the hot sun while you do it. That’s because billiards is a game of skill and of the mind, which is a nice way of saying that the “exciting” parts are fleeting and, honestly, not very exciting at all.
Thankfully, it’s also famously a bar sport, which means that drinking while you watch isn’t only expected but somewhat encouraged. That said, if you’re going to pound a few brews before going out to watch a game, you’ve gotta make sure you can control your behavior. This guy didn’t know that, and so, he used his beer bottle to ruin what was about to be a $230,000 match.
Apparently, after the incident, both players just stood around for 20 or so minutes until they could figure out how to solve the problem before one of them eventually just conceded.
