Last week’s CrowdStrike outage threw many sectors into complete chaos. While some were able to adapt and overcome, others continued to struggle as we entered a new week. That’s the case at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, where some families had been trapped for days as a result of the chaos caused by the outage.
Delta has completely dropped the ball on this.

My family and I have been stranded at Atlanta airport for 4 days now.
0 car rentals
0 hotels (was able to get one through a rewards program 25 minutes from the airport for tonight)
0 available flights
4-5 hours in line to even… pic.twitter.com/O6GRssOrdk
One Twitter user took to the site to express his frustrations, explaining that he and his family had been stuck at the airport for four days. According to him, there were zero available flights, zero hotels and zero car rentals, and in order to even talk to someone and receive assistance, you had to wait up to five hours in a line. The cancellation of thousands of flights with no replacements and minimal customer service meant that thousands of people spent the weekend sleeping on the airport floor.
We will be covering eligible expenses for impacted customers resulting from this flight disruption, including providing meal vouchers, hotel accommodations where available & ground transportation. 6/8

News reports confirm the man’s experiences. Per Atlanta News First, over 300 flights from Hartsfield-Jackson were canceled over the weekend. While Delta assured passengers it was working “around the clock” to restore full functionality and offering meal vouchers, accommodation and transportation for those impacted, Multifamily Madness said that couldn’t be further from the truth.
Well everyone…we have officially made it home and through our front door!

I will be going after Delta full press this week to get every dime owned to me once I get caught up with work.
This is war!!! pic.twitter.com/9GmeK1LLNt
Fortunately for him and his family, after days of being trapped in the world’s busiest airport, they made it out on a standby flight yesterday, with OP posting a photo from their home before presumably passing out cold for the next 24 hours. He added that he will be “going after Delta full press this week to get every dime owned [sic] to me once I get caught up with work. This is war!!!”
Hell hath no fury like a man who’s had to sleep on the airport floor for 96 hours.
