Every day seems to bring a new revelation about accused UnitedHealthcare attacker Luigi Mangione. Recent hits include the idea that he was beat up by ‘Thai Ladyboys’ and attempting to pay off a Yakuza boss with Pokemon cards.
But with all the big, bombastic stories, it’s easy to overlook the smaller details we’re learning about the man. For example, in a recent alleged letter from prison, he says he’s finally taken the time to listen to Taylor Swift and Charli XCX — and that the other inmates are making fun of him for it.
“Last week, I downloaded a bunch of Taylor Swift and Charli XCX onto my tablet. I've never really listened to either of them… I figured l’d see what all the hype was about,” he purportedly wrote in the letter. “So I'm walking laps on the top tier of my unit listening to ‘cardigan’ by Tswift, when one of the other inmates, ‘King,’ calls me over to see what I’m listening to. He scolds me for awhile, then replaces all my music. Now I listen to ‘Lil Durk.’”
He closes by saying he recommends the song “Dis Ain’t What U Want” by Lil Durk. Not a bad pick.
