A man named Abdias Datis, better known as DJ AJ 305, is the host of a radio station called “Unique FM” on 91.7 FM. The problem is that it’s not an official radio station and that he’s illegally broadcasting it out of his home.

This wasn’t just a one-off thing, either. According to investigators, he’s been fined for doing this numerous times. For instance, on September 26, 2024, he was fined $120,000 by the FCC, but the agency increased the penalty to over $325,000 after alleging he continued operating the station in November and January despite the initial fine. Per his arrest report, that still didn’t stop him, as FCC investigators reportedly detected his signal another five times between March and August.

It was only when he began broadcasting *again* that authorities moved in, serving him a search warrant and seizing his broadcasting equipment while he was live on-air.
