There's a saying; Inadvertently harm an octogenarian while trying to secure real estate once, shame on you. Inadvertently harm an octogenarian while trying to secure real estate twice, shame on Katy Perry.

Katy Perry has moved homes and for the past three years has been in a lawsuit with the previous owner.  Carl Westcott, an 83-year-old veteran claims to have been incapacitated when he signed over the house to Perry and her partner Orlando Bloom. Westcott suffers from Huntington’s disease.

“The combination of his age, frailty from his back condition and recent surgery, and the opiates he was taking several times a day rendered Mr. Westcott of unsound mind" reads the complaint.

Days after Westcott signed over the 15 million dollar Santa Barbara home he rescinded the couple's offer. Perry and Bloom then sued the veteran for rolling back on the deal he already approved. The trial is set to begin and Westcott’s family will be appearing in court as his health issues have left him bedridden.

This isn’t Perry’s first rodeo dealing with elderly roadblocks to real estate.

Back in 2015, she bought a Los Angeles convent for 14 million dollars. Two nuns that lived on the property claimed that they had separately sold the convent to someone else. The legal battle between Perry and the nuns culminated in Perry receiving the convent plus damages and Sister Catharine Rose Holzman later died in court.

A moment many people reference as the time Katy Perry “killed” a nun.

Which has people drawing similarities with her case against Westcott.

“How come I just found out that apparently, Katy Perry makes a habit of this, including an 80-year-old nun whose last words were “Katy pls stop” before collapsing and dying in court ?????” tweeted (Xed?) @arxhiiie.

“Does she need to create a true crime subplot for every real estate decision … can’t she just buy a house,” asked @quepaso_daniel.

Though some are on Perry’s side though.

“First of all the Westcotts are super racist and notoriously litigious. Second of all, buyers keepers lol sucks to suck, old man!” tweeted @dvnots, after recognizing controversial Real Housewives of Dallas star Kameron Westcott in a photo with her father-in-law, the veteran.

I guess Perry doesn’t like homeowners being “Hot N’ Cold.”
