Japan Wanted More Tourists. Now, They’re Setting Up a Task Force to Get Them Out
A real “You’ve had your fun, now leave” moment.

For a long time now, Japan has had a major issue: The population is getting older, and younger people aren’t having enough babies to balance it out.
Consequently, the government has been loosening immigration requirements and encouraging more tourism into the country, both to even out the population and to bring in some extra revenue. This strategy *has* brought in more revenue, but it’s also created a group of people who specifically go to Japan just to mess with people.
The Japanese government is sick of this, so now, they’re setting up a task force to figure out how to get people to stop coming to the country.
Well, not *all* people. Specifically, the Japanese government says it’s responding to “crimes or nuisance behaviors committed by some foreign nationals,” as well as foreigners who buy land in the country or go to the hospital and leave without paying.
Whether this is a real problem is unclear, as some have speculated that laws like these are just a sop to the isolationist and nationalist contingent of Japan’s voting block.
Still, I don’t think any of them would cry if there was a complete ban on Kick streamers in the country.
