Move over spray paint, chalk is coming for your graffiti gig – well, at least according to TikTok’s latest viral landlord Karen.

TikTok's famous chalk artist, Kara – better known by her username @varakaughn – took to her platform of more than 138.5k followers this week with an important update surrounding both the future of her (very washable) medium and her living situation.

“My landlord’s wife told me my chalk art was disrespectful and had to go,” she wrote atop a video of her blasting away several designs, including detailed illustrations of Pokémon, Bulbasaur, and Magikarp. The previous day, Kara said her landlord had noticed her drawing and was so “interested and excited” about her work that he insisted on returning with his wife to see the finished products.

Unfortunately, the landlord’s wife was much less enthused after seeing her designs, repeatedly denouncing them as “disrespectful.”

“I mean I know it’s art to you, but to some people, it’s not. It’s graffiti,” she snapped back in a later phone call, slamming Kara’s drawings as “not a lot of art.” “I just don’t understand this.”

Naturally, nearly all 84.2k comments were peeved on Kara’s behalf.

“Is she your parent or your landlord???” mused TikTok user @shepperoninchz. “Absolutely big weirdo energy from that woman.”

“This is making me so freakin mad,” quipped @michellebellexo “ITS CHALK!!!!!! WTH!? Add some water and it’s gone!!!!”

With a landlord like that, next time we think Kara should opt for spray paint.
